David T. Treadway1,2

M, b. 1836
     David T. Treadway was born in 1836 at NC. He was the son of Arthur Treadway and Lucretia Taylor. He with his three brothers enlisted in July 1861, at Springfield, AR. during the Civil War. They enlisted in the Co C, "The Choctaw Riflemen", 10th Regiment Arkansas Infantry, CSA. The unit was involved in several battles, including Shilo. He experienced the seige of Port Hudson. The unit was disbanded after they were captued at Port Hudson in July 1863. While at Camp Corinth, on April 15, 1862, he wrote letter to his older brother Charles. He states that he is needed at home, because his father is blind and his mother is unable to attend to business. He was killed by northern Jayhawkers, while standing peacefully under a persimmon tree, after the war was over.3
(Comment: He may be the same David Tredaway who married Elizabeth Daughtery on 2 Mar 1861, in Van Buren Co, AR.)
