"This indenture made the 1st day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty six, John Swiger and Elizabeth his wife, formerly Elizabeth Tetrick of Harrison County & Commonwealth of Virginia of the one part & Peter Tetrick, son of Joseph Tetrick of the other part, witnesseth that the said John Swiger and Elizabeth his wife for & in consideration of the sum of one dollar to them in hand paid the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge have granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain & sell unto the said Peter Tetrick, a certain parcel of land lying & being situate on Teverbaugh run in the said County of Harrison, containing twenty acres more or less, & being part of a tract of five hundred acres patented by the Commonwealth to George Tetrick and conveyed to Henry his father after whose demise & a division by mutual agreement between the heirs of [unreadable: perhaps "the said"] Henry Tetrick, deceased, the said parcel of twenty five acres more or less, was agreed to be given to Joseph Tetrick, the father of the said Peter Tetrick as his proportion thereof, & by his desire the said land is conveyed to the said Peter, his son.
