     Howard Wendall Pethtel was born on 6 June 1916. He was the son of William Oscar Pethtel and Cynthia Dorothy Wendell. He married Helen Christene Decker, daughter of Marvin C. Decker and Nora Lightell, on 14 November 1934. He married Ruth Potts on 23 August 1986. He lived at Cambridge, OH.. He died on 8 March 2007 at age 90.

     Mary Jane Pethtel is the daughter of Howard Wendall Pethtel and Helen Christene Decker.
